Other medicinal plant diets:
CHIRI-SANANGO (Brunfelsia grandiflora) - The root is used to cure rheumatism, arthritis, joint and bone disorders, and problems with the nervous system. The stem is used to disinfect and cure skin bacteria.
GINSENG - Used to increase energy, concentration, presence and stamina.
SANTA MARIA (Piper peltata) - The leaves are used to relieve pain and fever and can be smoked for a mild psychedelic effect. The root is used for purging.
OJE (Ficus insipida) - This plant is used for strong purging and purifying effects, as well as to cure intestinal parasites and bacteria.
MALVA (Malachra ruderalis) - The root is used to cure common cold. The leaves are used for cough, fever, colic, and as an anti-inflamatory. Also used to relieve burns and athletes foot. The flower is used to relieve eye irritation.
AJO SACHA (Mansoa alliacea) - The root and leaves are both used to cure rheumatism, as well as to generate natural inner heat.
UNIA DE GATO (Uncaria guianensis) - The crust is used to cure snake bites, rheumatism, prostate inflammations and ulcers. The leaves are used for fever and cough. Currently it has been used in curing cancer.
CHANCA PIEDRA (Phyllanthus urinaria) - The root is used for Hepatitis, urinary infections, and prostate problems.








AYAHUASKA - Banisteriopsis Caapi, Yage, Caapi
The word "Ayahuasca" refers to a magical medicinal drink, that incorporates two or more plant species capable of producing profound mental, physical and spiritual effects when brewed together and consumed in a ceremonial setting. One of these plants is always the giant woody liana vine called Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi). The other plant or plants combined with ayahuasca generally contain dimethyltryptamines. The plants most often used are the leaves of Chacruna (Psychotria viridis).
CHACRUNA - Psychotria Viridis
This is a DMT containing plant, that grows all over the Amazon region and is used by local shamans in combination with Ayahuasca vine to produce Ayahuasca Brew. Dry leaves are smoked for a calming, numbing effect.
SAN PEDRO - Trichocereus Pachanoi
This plant is native to the Andes of Peru and Ecuador. Unlike the small peyote cactus, San Pedro is large and multi-branched. In it's natural environment, it often grows to heights of 10 or 15 feet. There is evidence that the ritualistic use of San Pedro dates back to thousands of years. The main active ingredient is mescaline, yet it also contains a number of other alkaloids that produce extremely alkalinizing effects on the body and mind. Unlike other spiritual plants, San Pedro is considered to be very unique and unpredictable. In Native American tradition, it is said to embody an ancient spirit of Mescalito, a teacher and protector of life. It is contacted for knowledge and guidance on the "right way to live" and needs to be "met half way" through ceremonial setting.
TOE - Brugmansia Suveolens (Tree Datura)
This plants is also known as Tree Datura due to similarity in effect to the Datura Stramonium. The main active ingredient is scopolamine. Shamans use Toe for long spiritual journeys as well as in combination with Ayahuasca or San Pedro for more visionary results.
VIROLA - Virola Theidoro
Virola species are DMT containing trees (the sap from the inner bark) which are used by some South American tribes in the preparation of DMT containing snuffs and ayahuasca brews. This hallucinogen enables the Shamans to consult the spirit world. Tribes, especially the Bora and Witoto, swallow pellets made from the paste of the resin.
OJAS DE COCA - Coca leaves
Coca is an important medicinal plant. One of its most famous uses is as a treatment for sorojche (altitude sickness). In addition, coca is widely used for digestive problems, particularly in the form of tea, and also for headaches, particularly by the indigenous peoples. Coca also treats muscle aches and arthritic conditions and of course widely used as a stimulant. For this purpose, it is generally chewed or boiled into concentrated brews. Coca also plays an important role in the spiritual practices of the native peoples, and coca leaves are referred to as las hojas sagradas, "the sacred leaves." The ceremony includes sitting in a circle, drinking the tea, and carrying on an authentic conversation.
SALVIA DIVINORUM - Divine Sage
Salvia Divinorum is considered to be the most potent natural psychedelic. It is not a local plant of the Amazon, but originally comes from Australia, and is currently used throughout the world to produce states of altered consciousness. The experience it creates is best described as " total dissolution of self".
