Proper nutrition is of utmost importance on the path of evolution. Especially now in our society, where we are surrounded by such an immense amount of toxins and poisons, openly supplied to people as regular food. Luckily there is a lot of study available, that shows how correct use of food can not only prevent most of dis-eases, but also reverse the damage and aid in the cure.
Food accounts for roughly half of the external influence received by our consciousness, the other half being the air we breath. That is why it is so important to be aware of what we put into our bodies. For example, acidic food that is hard to digest creates acidic environment in our body, which nature considers to be dead and ready for break down back into the earth. Bacteria and viruses then come in to do this job. Alkaline food eliminates the need for this process, almost eliminating the process of "getting sick"
At SpiritPath, during the retreats, we have a few different levels of diet. The most basic diet consists of grains (brown rice, quinoa, lentils, oatmeal), local vegetables and fruits, teas, honey, olive oil, local spices and occasional fish. There are two meals daily, breakfast and dinner, with snacks in the evening. During the plant diets, certain items are eliminated. The strictest diet is held around the plant ceremonies, when salt, sugar, spices, oil, flour, vegetables, dairy or animal products are not allowed. Our diet allows the participants to maintain centered mind, free from influence, which in turns helps raise the natural concentration and intensify the purification process.
