The 'Science' of Transformation

A 'science' is a theoretical illustration of the process. It provides an understanding that can open the way to direct knowledge. At SpiritPath, we integrate many views and philosophies into one simple and universal description of the process of transformation. Although this description is in no way the reality itself, it can be used to point the mind in the right direction or help participants intellectually relate to their experience. We understand that the experience itself is by far more important, therefore any description is valuable as long as it is simple, open, and is used for the purpose of relating to the experience of others and to one’s understanding.

The central distinction is that the normal world of objects and events is only a product of a certain point of view of perception. In actuality, it is the world of energy, a unified occurrence that encompasses everything from subatomic particle possibilities to celestial events.

The latest study in the field of brain research has come to the following conclusion: The cortex of the brain is an interconnected network of billions upon billions of tiny cells called neurons. Those neurons exist in 2 states: ON and OFF, or Firing and Dormant. When we come into contact with the external world, those neurons begin to fire in patterns that match the external events. For example, when I see your face, the neurons in my cortex begin to fire in a pattern that creates a perfect image of your face inside my brain. Then this form gets stored, and the next pattern is received. Further it was concluded that the neurons are separated in two categories: Observation neurons and Action neurons, and it was it was discovered that whether one is performing and action or observing an action, same pattern of neurons is being fired within the brain. For example, if you were skiing, the brain would fire action patterns of skiing, but if you were watching somebody ski, the brain would fire the same exact pattern, only by the observation neurons. This was clearly observed in experiments with monkeys, who learned new things by coping each other. To learn how to open the banana, all the monkey had to do was observe another monkey open the banana, then fire the action neurons in the same pattern as the observation neurons. Like this, very slowly, the brain evolved over millions of years through numerous of life forms. Once in the human form, the brain opened a whole new possibility of evolution and expansion through the development of language. Using the special connection between form and sound, humans could relay neuron pattern to each other, as well as build and expand on these patterns through communication, opening up a possibility to experience pattern that lie outside the occurring flow. Imagination opened up a new realm of possibility for life on the planet, creating a doorway to discovering spiritual existence – a realm that exists outside of mind and matter. Observation is the key to this kingdom. But causing the action neurons to fire the patterns of observation, while observing the action itself, a certain neurological short circuit is generated. This break in the automatic flow of mind generates something outside the brain activity. This something is called awareness.

Realizing the faculty of awareness is called awakening, and slowly shifting the focus to growing and expanding that faculty is the aim of the spiritual discipline. The sciences of transformation provide systems of distinctions that become the means of self exploration. Total realization of the self creates total awareness – the vehicle to continuing one’s journey to infinity.
