Sacred Plants / Power Plants

Sacred Plants are the most ancient tools of transformation. It is believed that the psychotropic mushroom existed during the times of first humans and played a major role in development of language. The earliest known use of Sacred Plants for the purposes of transformation was tens of thousands of years ago, both in the eastern and western hemisphere. In the east, there is a constant mention about magical plants used by Rishies, ancient Indian seers, to examine the depth of their nature. In the west, the ancient sorcerers greatly relied on Power Plants to expand in awareness and power.

When taking power plants, one activates the energies within one’s being that lie outside the normal perception. Those energies quickly flood one’s attention and interrupt the regular flow of mind. This interruption can be utilized to expand the awareness and shift perception. The perception is always made to shifts in accordance with the intent of the practitioner. With the intent of achieving wholeness through purification of the mind, the perception will shift to a place of totality, while the awareness will move to the areas of tension in the energy body, so that those tensions can unwind and join the totality. By observing all experiences equanimously, the tensions will slowly dissolve, and natural wholeness will be restored. In this manner, plants cans present us with our limitations, as well as assist us in transcending them. At the same time, plants provide us with the opportunity to experience different states of perception and obtain bodily knowledge of the limitless universe.

Although it is not required to participate in Sacred Plant ceremonies, those ceremonies are a central theme for the SpiritPath retreats. Like being in the presence of an enlightened master, Sacred Plants greatly accelerate the transformation process and significantly increase the capacity for self-transcendence. In actuality, it is the over-abundance of natural energy that generates the process of transformation itself; Sacred Plants, as well as other methods and techniques only assist the body and the mind to let go to that process.
